Application - Art photography is a photograph which is portrayed in an unusual way or method, the photo's are made to look real life in an abstract way. The artists we looked at all make this image in the pictures they have taken and its very clever in how they have produced the photo, two of the artists we looked at were Alejandro Chaskielberg and Esteban Pastorino Diaz who are both argentinian photography artists, in Diaz's work he adds the effect of buildings in a block looking position, he also adds the effect in some of the pictures that its an old style photo with the marks on the buildings and the 50's looking style. Its clever how he depicts the message in some of the pictures as in one is of a cemetry and looking closely you can see the words RIP across the building, i find this a clever concept. Another artist we looked at was Chaskielberg who took his pictures in an south american environment his pictures are solely on the lives of these south american people and how they live there lives, in some of the pictures the photo is very sharp in the middle to show the main object on show and the rest of the picture is out of focus, he also cleverly adds effects into the picture and lighting is emphasised alot to make the picture more colourful and brighter. These two artists use the conceptual photography method which makes the pictures look real life but on closer looking there abstract and in some cases some of it isnt real and makes you think otherwise. i feel that Chaskielberg uses the golden rule with his pictures as he emphasises alot on the central point of the picture with the rest being nothing to do with the art.
Context - Alot of the pictures in art photography are normally found in art galleries or musuems if there priceless pieces. The majority of the art photography are placed on walls and the whole exibit is designed solely on the pictures, some of the pictures were pinned up to give the feel of a very modern style of photo while some of the others were in frames to suggest they have a old and different cultural feel to the picture. When we looked at some of the art which was pinned to the boards it was a very empty room and with white walls to suggest its a peaceful atmosophere to think about whats happening in the photo. Also other pieces of art were placed in the room to have impact and relate to what the pictures are saying.
Techniques - I feel with the techniques in alot of the pictures was to reach out to the audience and give a sense of realism, it makes the person think heavily on what could be happening in the picture. Some of the art we saw was studio based, set design and projection. The old style photos which were in The House Of Vernacular were used on paper and then placed in frames to make it feel like an actual old style house, in one of the rooms they had old photos depicting of family photography of there lives on an old style projector to give a real life feeling of how they viewed pictures in those days. Another method we looked at was the set design, they created the whole set to relate to and feel like the picture itself to give that feeling you are actually there living this moment in time and also gives a theme of what these pictures are telling us. I like these methods alot because its a good way of explaining the composition of the photographs and how the photographer wanted to pictures to turn out.

Fashion Photography
Application - The fashion world is something that introduces style and clothes through the eyes of photographers its a ruthless business as so many pictures are discarded due to a slight error in a picture and everything has to perfected, its a way of gaining people to view these clothes and get people to buy the material, also the way pictures are taken are shown in many different ways. Many of the pictures show different colours, textures and styles, they can also portray different time periods and recycle the image into modern day use.
Context - There are many ways to get the fashion styles across the world, the most famous type is by magazines. Majority of famous companies have there own magazine to showcase there various fashion statements, Vogue being one of the most well known. Another famous marketing piece if adverts which are shown on television of billboards, these are striking images and gain the public to see these straight away if there watching a television programme or walking past a billboard sign. The difference between advertising and magazine is that within a magazine they are being portrayed for the style and elegance of the beauty they are showing. While with advertising they are using the model shown to showcase perfumes and outfits and they put a sense of pressure on that person on the advert.
Techinique - For most fashion pieces they are produced in certain ways, with models they are mostly photographed in a studio so they can arrange the lighting, and make the photo more to there suit, it also feels more authentic if its produced in a building because they have the resources to adjust the picture. Also with the fashion world they never use past trends everything is always new and produced differently to anything else. The 2 camera types we looked at that were used in the studio shoot, were the digital camera and the more older style of the 10x8 camera these were 10x8 frames as mentioned in the name, these were used in the 1930's and nowadays they are used to make the style of photo's more elegant and true to the early time period.
